"Error occured while attempting to create database" message when installing Office Timesheets
If the message appears during the installation of Office Timesheets then the installer could not locate the SQL Server database using the designated "Database Server Name". Ensure the proper machine name that houses the SQL Server database is typed in the "Database Machine Name" field. For additional help in determining what this is please review our knowledge based article Locating the Office Timesheets Server machine name

****For users of SQL Server 2005 Express setup your "Database Server Name" with the following format****

localhost\sqlexpress

or

myserver\sqlexpress

or

IP address\sqlexpress

Note: Replace "myserver" from above with the name of the machine that houses the SQL Server 2005 Express application. Replace "IP address" from above with the actual IP address of the machine that houses the SQL Server 2005 Express application.

Additionally, configure the following settings which allows SQL Server 2005 Express and Office Timesheets to communicate with each other.

1) Enable remote access

2) Set specific firewall settings for sql express

Please review the following links to that reference how to perform the above steps and have your Network Administrator assist you in the configuration setup:
